Freight Fit Engine: right-size your packaging, right-size your equipment
Most shipping cost is decided long before a truck is booked — in the pallet footprint, the crate material, and whether the freight can be stacked. The Freight Fit Engine takes the dims and weights you already have — on a domestic U.S. lane or an inbound import — converts metric to imperial (or the other way round), and tells you the equipment type the move actually needs, how hard the load will be to handle on arrival, and where the packaging itself is costing you money.
How it works
Four steps, about two minutes per shipment.
1. Describe the shipment
Pick a domestic mode (full truckload, LTL/partial, intermodal or drayage) or an import mode (air, ocean FCL or LCL). Enter an origin ZIP for domestic lanes or a port of origin for imports, the destination ZIP, and how the freight will be received — dock-high, liftgate, warehouse with forklift, airport ramp, residential, or a retail store with no dock.
2. Enter the pieces in your own units
Toggle between metric (cm / kg) and imperial (in / lb) and add a line per piece type: count, packaging type, length × width × height, weight per piece, stackable and fragile flags. Volume-only lines are supported when dims are not yet known.
3. Choose the output language
Optional, and most useful when the report is going to an overseas supplier or agent. Recommendations can be produced in English, German, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Japanese, Malay, Indonesian, or Korean — so the report can go straight to an overseas supplier or agent.
4. Generate, export and share
The engine converts every dimension both ways, recommends the equipment type for the U.S. final mile, scores handling difficulty out of 10, flags dock and access risks, and lists packaging changes the manufacturer can make to cut cost. Export as a branded PDF or email it.
